Zacapa 23 is an ultra-premium blend of rums aged between 6 and 23 years old.
Serve: A deep, rich sipping rum, it is best experienced neat or on the rocks: pour slowly into a fine crystal tumbler and chill over a large ice cube.
Process: After ageing in different casks, including robust bourbon, delicate sherry and Pedro Ximenez wine casks, prior to bottling, Zacapa 23 is rested in re-charred white oak barrels to impart additional flavour from the wood.
Tasting Notes: Colour: Dark mahogany.
Nose: Great intensity. Sweet and delicate with notes of wood, fruitiness, vanilla, almond, caramel, fudge and chocolate accentuated with hints of spice.
Taste: The complex Sistema Solera ageing process creates exciting intricacies in Zacapa 23 with its honey, butterscotch, spiced oak and dried fruit flavours. It is dense and exceptionally balanced with a long deep aftertaste.
